Location details

This Antwerp apartment for rent for expats is located on the beautiful STADSWAAG square in the city of Antwerp. It is in the north of the city centre, so close to the popular neighbourhood Eilandje, and conveniently located for people working at the Port of Antwerp.

‘t Eilandje

This area has been completely redeveloped by project developers. It has a great combination of modern architecture combined with the historic warehouses that surround the marina. The name “‘t Eilandje” or roughly translated to “The small Island” is referring to this marina that used to be a loading and unloading dock. 

Around this marina, you can also find some great restaurants and bars. In the middle of it all, you can find the newest member of the museum family in Antwerp, MAS or “Museum Aan de Stroom” which means Museum on the Stream. The stream is referring to the Schelde. 

You are also in walking distance to “Park Spoor Noord” referring to when it was part of the railroad system. This beautiful green lung has something to offer for everybody such as a skatepark, grills and even a restaurant.

Antwerp City Center

Take a journey into history when you walk through the centre of Antwerp. If the cobblestone on the street could speak, they would tell you a lot of history. You will also notice the houses still have their original facades. The centre dates back to even before medieval times. 

The centre has a lot to offer. Whether you want to enjoy the sun while eating a pot of mussels and fries on the “Groenplaats”, tourist spotting on the “Grote Markt” over a heavy Belgian beer, finding the hidden playing card symbols on the “Hendrik Conscienceplein” or having a “last one” at 4 am in “Café Den Engel”. This area has something to offer for everyone.

The city centre is made almost completely pedestrian which makes it a very safe area for children to run around. Bus stops and trams are within less than 5 minutes around you and they can bring you to any part of the city within less than 10 minutes.
