A walk in the park in Valencia

Since a few days we are allowed to go outside in Spain for sports or hiking. We have made an overview for you with the most beautiful parks Valencia has to offer. Are you ready? Let‘s go!

Table of Contents

Parque Turia

This amazing park or garden counts 9 kilometers. It is in fact one of the largest urban natural parks in Spain. You can say that this is the green lung of Valencia. This park has lots of different areas where you can get lost. It is the perfect route for runners, there‘s a reason that Valencia is called the city of runners. It is also great for a nice bike tour. This large park is built on the old bed of the River Turia. This river was diverted to avoid the constant flooding of this wonderful city. Close to this park we have lots of apartments, for example: Pont de Fusta.

Parque Central

After winning an international competition, Kathryn Gustafsin designed this park. Light, green and water are the principal elements of this park. It has different spaces created by a network of paths. Every space has its own botanical typology. This park is very modern and a great spot for a short walk in the sun, alone, with your pet or with your children. Parque Central is located between Ruzafa and Malilla. Do you want to escape from the hustle and bustle in the very centre? This is your place! You can actually live in an apartment with a view on this amazing park. Parque Monforte

This park has lots of beautiful statues, vases, fountains, bushes and trees. The beauty of the flower areas make this one of the most beautiful parks in Valencia. You will find some lovely water features and two charming ponds in the corner. This park is ideal for a stroll with your other half as it is very romantic. If you want to feel these romantic vibes you should check out Mare De Deu.

Jardines de Real

The rich gardening, the profusion of sculptural monuments and the beautiful fountains make it one of the most remarkable parks in Valencia. It is situated across the Turia park. In the southern part of this park you‘ll find romantic flower beds. It is probably the most emblematic garden of the city because of the landscape and cultural value. Visit this park if you need some peace and quiet in this busy city. Feeling like living here? Santa Rita is also close to this park. You can click here for more information about this park!

Parque Oeste

The Parque del Oeste, also known as the Parque del Avión, is the largest leisure area in Patraix and La Olivereta, as it is a park that occupies an area in both districts. The park is built on part of the land of former Air Force barracks. The park houses a sports area, skating rinks, pétanque courts, various areas with children’s games, a cafeteria and a kiosk that opens according to the season, fountains, a dog entertainment area and it also hosts a swimming pool complex, but of course this is closed at the moment. For a great journey we‘ve got an apartment close by: Angel Guimera.

Parque Marxalenes

This family friendly park is located in the middle of the barrio Marxalenes. Water plays a big role in this park, through fountains, canals and ponds and there is even a small pond that recreates the habitat of the Albufera! The park also has sports facilities, and has children’s play areas which of course can‘t be used right now. A great place to live! Check out Canonero, an apartment close to this park.
