Based in the North of Antwerp, there are multiple of backroads that you can take to leave the city quickly. This apartment is great not only for the location but also for the amazing large balcony that is orientated South. This really is a rental with a view.
When you walk into this beautifully renovated apartment, you will notice the amount of natural light coming into the living room through the large windows. The hardwood floors beautifully reflect this light. The living room gives access to the great outdoor balcony that has a view of the Cathedral of our Lady.
The living area has a comfortable design couch and a flatscreen TV. It blends perfectly into the dining area that has a table that sits six people very easily. The dining area mixes in great with the open modern kitchen. The kitchen is very functional and is equipped with all necessary appliances and kitchenware. The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed with linen included. The second bedroom is used as a dressing room which leaves a lot of space for clothing storage. The modern bathroom has a luxury walk-in shower.

The apartment Antwerp expat rental is located between “’t Eilandje” and the historic city centre of Antwerp. Although known for the presence of the Antwerp Red Light District, the area has gone through a huge makeover in the past years, attracting more and more young families. Large national grocery stores such as Albert Heijn and Delhaize are conveniently located. The new tramway stops just outside your door and will bring you anywhere in the city.
“‘t Eilandje” or roughly translated to “The small Island” referring to the marina that used to be a loading and unloading dock. The neighbourhood is conveniently located under a 15-minute walk to the historic district of Antwerp with the Cathedral, Grand Place and other museums and attractions.
The marina is surrounded by old warehouses that have been transformed in prestigious loft apartments, office and restaurants. Make sure to explore the national archive located in the “Felix Pakhuis”.
The redevelopment of this area started in the early 2000s and even created a large park which is in walking distance from the marina. In 2019, they even opened a pedestrian bridge that connects “‘t Eilandje” with this park called “Park Spoor Noord” referring to when it was part of the railroad system.
The centre of Antwerp has stopped in time when you walk through the Medieval streets covered in cobblestones. The houses still have their original facades and you can just imagine how it was like living in this great city near the river back in Medieval times. Enjoy the sunshine over a pot of mussels and fries on the “Groenplaats”, people watching on the “Grote Markt” over a heavy Belgian beer, letting your kids find the playing card symbols on the “Hendrik Conscienceplein” or having a final drink at 4 am in “Café Den Engel”. This area has something to offer for everyone.
The city centre is made almost completely pedestrian which makes it a very safe area for children to run around. Bus stops and trams are within less than 5 minutes around you and they can bring you to any part of the city within less than 10 minutes.
