This temporary apartment in Brussels is located in a magnificent townhouse in the subsidiary of Ixelles or Etterbeek. It is located in the European quarter of Brussels, close to the European parliament. The area is known for its diverse cultures but also because of its location near two beautiful parks: The famous “Parc Du Cinquantenaire”& Leopold Park.

In a couple of minutes by foot, you can find 2 metro stations and 1 tram station. In the direct vicinity, you can find plenty of good restaurants, supermarkets, bars and other nightlife.

Parc du Cinquantenaire

The Parc du Cinquantenaire is French for “Park of the Fiftieth Anniversary” or Jubelpark in Dutch, short for “jubilee”, is a large public, urban park.

Some of the buildings of this U-shaped complex were commissioned by the Belgian government under the rule of King Leopold II. The park was built for the 1880 National Exhibition. This exhibition was to celebrate 50 years of Belgian independence from the French. More structures were added afterwards as other exhibitions needed other spaces. The triumph arch was erected in 1905 replacing a previous temporary version of the arch by Gédéon Bordiau. The surrounding 30 ha (74 acres) park is full of picturesque gardens, ponds and waterfalls. In 1930, the government decided to reserve the Cinquantenaire for use as a leisure park.
