Location details of this flat for rent in Brussels

Up-and-coming Marollen, or Marolles, is home to hip techno clubs, trendy pubs and shops selling indie fashion, records and antiques. Around the central Place du Jeu de Balle, which hosts a daily flea market that has been held since 1873, there are modern galleries showcasing work by Belgian and international artists. Topped by a golden dome, the neoclassical Palais de Justice high court towers over the neighbourhood.

The area lies in the shadow of the gigantic Palace of Justice. The Cité Hellemans, a remarkable example of early 20th-century collective housing complexes, was built on the site of the neighbourhood’s many squalid cul-de-sacs. Rue Haute, one of the longest and oldest streets in the city, follows the course of an old Gallo-Roman road and runs along with Saint Peter’s Hospital, which was built in 1935 on the site of a lepers‘ hospital, to end at the Halle Gate, the only survivor of the series of gates which allowed passage inside the second walls of Brussels.

The Marolles is located just outside of the historic centre of Brussels. Several subway, tram and bus stations are just minutes away, making this apartment well-connected. Brussels Central train station can be reached in 10 minutes!
