Cabañal (or Cabanyal) has turned into one of the most fashionable neighbourhoods in Valencia in recent years. Traditionally El Cabañal was the port area of Valencia. The locals have a lot of pride in their unique houses and neighbourhood. That is why, once a year, they open their houses to the public to give them an impression of beach life in the 60s.

With recent investment in tourism by the local government, many of the streets have been pedestrianized. A new bar or coffee shop opens on a regular basis.
