Location details

This furnished 1 bedroom expat apartment in Antwerp is located near the port of Antwerp. The neighbourhood is called DAM, a traditional Antwerp neighbourhood next to the port area, so it rules out traffic problems for people working at the port. The city centre is nearby, as well as the Antwerp Ring Road and the Singel.

The gateway to Europe

Though not far from the historic city centre of Antwerp, the main asset of this apartment is the proximity to the port of Antwerp, also referred to as the gateway to Europe. Antwerp is the second largest port in Europe after Rotterdam and the sixth in the world.

No other seaport is as central in the E.U. as Antwerp. Seagoing vessels bring their goods up to 80 kilometres inland, to the heart of Europe. This makes transport via the Scheldehaven to European customers and factories not only the fastest and cheapest, it also means that there is less road transport and is therefore most environmentally responsible port.

Park Spoor Noord

Just on the verge of the DAM neighbourhood, where the apartment is located, you will find Park Spoor Noord. This large, green meadow offers play facilities for young people, two fountains, a skate park, cycling tracks, walking paths, etcetera. It accentuates green, sports and culture. The main attractions are undoubtedly the two lovely water playgrounds accompanied by a shelter with a temporary summer terrace of the Cargo pop up bar. The park is very popular among the locals of Antwerp who gather here to sunbathe or to complain about the weather, which is one of the favourite pastimes of the Belgians.
