Poble Sec is the name of the neighbourhood between the old city, the Montjuic hill, and the port. Located near Las Ramblas (1800 m) and the Parc de Montjuïc where the Fira de Barcelona is, you barely need a handful of minutes to walk to the harbour. The metro stop Poble Sec is only a 100 metres away, as is the metropolitan bus which will take you around the whole city. You can walk to the Ramblas, the historic Boqueria market and the Cathedral to boot.

The area is safe and residential, and plenty of entertainment can also be found. This entertainment consists popular bars, theater and even a club. However, although Paral.lel is a busy main road during the day, the areas are quiet and only a 10-20 minute walk from the city center and Las Ramblas. A good choice if you want to be centrally located but away from the hordes of tourists staying in the more central areas.
