The recent DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) has caused catastrophic flooding in Valencia, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread damage. As of November 4, 2024, reports indicate over 200 fatalities and numerous individuals still missing.
During this difficult time, our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this terrible event in our beloved Valencia. We extend our deepest condolences to the families who have suffered losses and our heartfelt support to those working tirelessly to recover their homes and locate missing loved ones.

Globexs has established a collection point at the Globexs office (Calle Pintor Salvador Abril 35), where people can donate essential items. We invite all volunteers to bring the following items to the Globexs office between 09:00 and 14:00
sanitary items: bleach, soap, diapers, toilet paper, wet towels, sanitary towels, gloves, masks
The Centro de Transfusión de la Comunitat Valenciana has organized special blood donation drives to support hospitals operating at full capacity. For instance, a donation point was set up at the Instituto Luis Vives in Valencia, operating from 11:00 to 21:00.
If you're in the Valencia area and wish to volunteer, local authorities and organizations are coordinating efforts to manage the influx of assistance. It's recommended to contact official channels to ensure your help is directed where it's most needed.
Before contributing, verify the legitimacy of the organizations and ensure your donations align with the current needs of the affected communities.
The Generalitat Valenciana has opened a webpage to channel the aid and donations to people affected by the DANA 2024 in the Region of Valencia. People are kindly requested to fill out a specific form here: https://presidencia.gva.es/es/somsolidaritat
The purpose of this form is to channel in an orderly manner the material aid for people and families affected by the recent DANA in the Valencian Community, according to the needs and demands of the local entities affected.

At the Consulate we receive a lot of phone calls from Belgians and Belgian organizations offering their help, and asking what they can do. We are in touch with the official instances here in Valencia. However, we kindly ask Belgian volunteers to get in touch with the General Consulate in Alicante by email (alicante@diplobel.fed.be) and to fill out the form on the website on Foreign Affairs.
