Work Accommodation

Diferentes opciones de alojamiento para empresas y trabajadores de negocios

Every year, more companies need to relocate their employees abroad or to a different city within the same country. It is an excellent opportunity for both the worker and the company to broaden horizons and better understand different cultures and business approaches.

But relocation also comes with its challenges. If your employee is going to work abroad, they will need suitable accommodation where they can perform their duties and meet the objectives that required them to move to a new destination.

In this article, we will try to answer some of the questions that may arise when we have to move to a new destination for work.

Finding the perfect work accommodation option

The first thing you will need to do is choose between different accommodation options. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, so it is important to assess what is most important for you and your company.

Short-term vacation rental

If the stay is brief, a short-term vacation rental can be an attractive option. Included in the price, you will have exclusive access to a home, whether an apartment or a house. Also, depending on the time of year, the price can be more economical than a hotel.

Additionally, unlike hotels, short-term vacation rentals usually include a kitchen, which can be quite convenient.

However, this type of accommodation often lacks some of the services available in a hotel; cleaning service is usually not included, and the host may not be available to respond to questions and possible needs of tenants during the stay.

Since short-term vacation rentals are aimed at people on holiday, the accommodations are not always equipped with items necessary for daily life, such as an iron, a dryer, or fast wifi.

When relocating for work, it is always very important to have flexibility regarding the contract duration, as often the length of the job or project can be shortened or, more likely, extended.

Therefore, we may need to extend the stay longer than initially planned. Since it is a short-term vacation rental, it may not be possible to extend the stay because these are usually booked well in advance.

Hotel stays

Staying in a hotel room when traveling for work—who doesn’t like room service? Living in a hotel has its advantages…

For a company or a relocated worker, it can be a good option since everything is included in the price: water, electricity, phone, internet, garbage, cable, etc.

The relocation process is also quite simple. No need to fill out applications, pay security deposits, or cleaning fees. A debit card and your signature are usually all you need. Of course, having daily cleaning service is also a plus.

However, hotel stays for employees also have their drawbacks.

The main drawback when talking about worker relocation or business trips is the price, as it is usually the most expensive option.

Generally, hotel rooms also lack some of the comforts of an apartment or house, such as a kitchen or common spaces, which depending on the length of the stay, can be a decisive factor when choosing one type of accommodation over another.

Temporary or monthly corporate rentals

One of the best options when looking for accommodation for workers or companies are monthly or seasonal rentals.

The idea behind corporate monthly accommodation is simple: it is a full-service solution that includes all comforts. Unlike hotel stays or vacation rentals, monthly rentals usually provide a fully furnished apartment or house, which may also have access to various services such as cleaning or 24-hour support.

But undoubtedly, what makes corporate accommodation such an attractive option for companies, business travelers, digital nomads, or remote workers is that it offers great flexibility.

This, of course, is very important when relocating for work since with this type of temporary contract, it is much easier to extend the stay depending on project needs or any other reason.

Additionally, it is always possible to negotiate the conditions that suit us best. Weekly agreement, monthly, with specific dates…

Prices also come all-inclusive: utilities, wifi, cleaning…

What are the advantages of corporate accommodation?

For business trips, temporary corporate accommodation is an excellent option. Being fully oriented towards workers and companies, the locations of the homes are usually in business centers and around industrial centers, though not exclusively.

For medium or long-term periods, monthly or seasonal rentals are a more economical option than hotel rooms and, of course, vacation rentals.

Another great advantage is that the apartments or houses come fully furnished. From kitchen utensils and appliances to bedding and towels, tenants can settle in immediately.

When choosing corporate accommodation, you can expect exceptional customer service. Renting an apartment can be a stressful experience. In the case of vacation rentals, getting help can take days or even weeks.

Corporate accommodation, on the other hand, includes high-quality customer service every day of the week. The list of advantages in this case is quite extensive.

What to expect from corporate accommodation?

When you travel for work, you should aim to maintain comforts similar to those you enjoy at home. We know this is almost impossible since there is only one home, obviously.

Even being aware of this, the goal of corporate housing is to offer a level of comfort as close as possible to what you can experience in your own home, obviously saving the differences… that is why at Globexs we always try to find the best possible solutions according to our clients’ needs.

What rules and regulations apply to corporate accommodation?

One reason why company housing has become so popular in recent years is that they offer flexible contract conditions, especially regarding duration. There are no specific rules and regulations that differentiate them from the basic common-sense rules that apply to short-stay vacation rentals.

A great advantage, especially when the contract is made by a company, is that it will receive a single invoice including all expenses.

We know that searching for accommodation can be stressful. That is why at Globexs, we take care of the entire process so that you or your company’s workers do not have to worry about anything other than the reason that brought you to your new destination.

Globexs also provides legal and administrative assistance for any unforeseen events that may occur at your new destination. Moving abroad can be complicated, but at Globexs, we can make the process much easier.

Globexs offers furnished temporary rental homes for expatriates and companies in Spain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Whether you are looking for exclusive apartments or budget accommodation, we will gladly help you! Contact our team to start the exciting process of relocating abroad.
