Where to live in Valencia?

Last but not least, we are going to talk about Extramurs and Patraix. These neighbourhoods are gaining popularity, and rightly so! Extramurs is divided into 4 areas: El Botanic, La Petxina, La Roqueta and Arrancapins. Patraix is a hidden gem with lots to offer for anyone who loves a local experience.

Extramurs

ExtramursAs mentioned before, Arrancapins is part of Extramurs. Extramurs is mainly a residential area. Therefore it is a quiet neighbourhood but still close to the city centre. There is a lot of life here as well. You will find many bars, restaurants and terraces.

Botanic is another neighbourhood of Extramurs. It is named Botanic, thanks to the botanical garden. This area is located super close to the Turia park and the city centre. It is also well served by public transport. This is a very family-friendly area.

Petxina is another district in Extramurs. This is a very pleasant area to live with a family as well. It is like the rest of Extramurs, located close to Turia park and the old centre and is provided well by public transport such as a bus and metro. This is also a great place for sports enthusiasts as the Sports and Cultural Center of Petxina.

Last but not least we have La Roqueta. This is the area where the “estacion del Norte” is located. As you can imagine, this area is very well connected to the rest of the city by public transport. It is also a residential and commercial area. This area is great for living as it is a residential area but super close to the centre as well.

Extramurs has many attractions that should not be missed! You have the Torres de Quart and the Botanical garden. Everyone who had a walk in Valencia has passed these two monuments.

Patraix

PatraixPatraix is and has been a residential area since Roman times. It is a district where a lot of young people and families settle. This is a good area to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre without being too far away from everything.

Art and urban lovers can also indulge in the artistic graffiti in Patraix’s streetscape. The historic centre is filled with small townhouses, which gives it a nice atmosphere. The main point is PLaza de Patraix. The terraces and large pedestrian areas here are ideal to seize the day with friends or family. Another important temple is the Parroquia de Santa María de Jesús. Another attraction is the Parque de la Estacioneta de Jesús, in Calle de Uruguay, where we can see an old train station converted into a park.

Patraix is a hidden gem. It has many local shops and artisanal products, if you are a fan of this, this place is for you!  However, there is also a modern side to this area. There are even co-workings here, ideal for remote workers!
