Commitment to Carbon Neutrality and Environmental Stewardship
Globexs, a leader in temporary housing and relocation services, is pleased to announce its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy for 2024. Committed to offset its ecological footprint, Globexs is taking a step towards carbon neutrality by planting 115 trees in Pego, Alicante. In partnership with Desert Leaves Foundation, this reforestation initiative represents Globexs’ dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and creating a healthier planet.
Globexs’ CSR policy is focused on three main objectives:
Offsetting Carbon Emissions: Achieving carbon neutrality through targeted reforestation.
Supporting Biodiversity: Creating habitats and enhancing local ecosystems.
Promoting Sustainable Development: Building frameworks for environmental health in the communities Globexs serves.
By implementing this policy, Globexs aims to lead by example and show that companies in the housing industry can drive positive environmental change.
Globexs has partnered with Desert Leaves, a Spanish NGO specializing in reforestation in dryland areas, to carry out its 2024 carbon offset project. Located in Pego, Alicante, this project will see the planting of 115 trees, covering an area of approximately 1,150 square meters. These trees are expected to absorb 17 tons of CO₂ over 40 years, effectively neutralizing Globexs’ carbon footprint for 2023.
Desert Leaves’ role in this partnership includes full project management, from land preparation to ongoing tree maintenance, ensuring that each tree survives and contributes to the company’s long-term sustainability goals.
Globexs believes that environmental stewardship is essential for a sustainable future. The company’s CSR policy is driven by a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and supporting the environment through actionable steps. Partnering with Desert Leaves allows Globexs to invest in a tangible, impactful project promoting sustainability and ecological health.
"Our mission is not only to provide quality housing but also to build a foundation of responsibility that reflects our respect for the planet," stated a Globexs spokesperson. "Our partnership with Desert Leaves brings this commitment to life, enabling us to offset our emissions meaningfully."
The reforestation project involves the planting of 115 trees in Pego, located in the dryland region of Alicante. Dryland reforestation is essential in regions like Pego, where vegetation is sparse, and soil erosion is a significant concern. Each tree, primarily almez trees (Celtis australis), is expected to absorb approximately 425 kg of CO₂ annually, providing a total offset of 17 tons over a 40-year period.
The project is about more than just offsetting emissions—it is about creating a vibrant ecosystem that will support local wildlife, stabilize soil, and contribute to healthier air quality. This approach to sustainability aligns with Globexs’ values, allowing the company to play an active role in environmental preservation.

Desert Leaves conducted an in-depth analysis of Globexs’ carbon emissions for 2023, resulting in an estimated 17 tons of CO₂ emissions. The company’s footprint was measured across three scopes:
Scope 1: Direct emissions from company vehicles.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from electricity use in office spaces.
Scope 3: Indirect emissions related to business travel and employee commutes.
This comprehensive approach provided a clear picture of Globexs’ environmental impact and helped determine the number of trees needed to achieve carbon neutrality. Planting 115 trees will offset the emissions over the next 40 years, establishing Globexs as a responsible corporate citizen committed to ecological integrity.
Each of the 115 trees planted through this project will bring lasting environmental benefits, including:
CO₂ Sequestration: Each tree will absorb around 425 kg of CO₂ annually, significantly reducing greenhouse gas levels.
Air Quality Improvement: Trees naturally filter pollutants from the air, enhancing oxygen levels and contributing to healthier environments.
Biodiversity Support: Forested areas provide habitats for birds, insects, and small mammals, promoting a balanced ecosystem.
Soil and Water Conservation: Trees prevent soil erosion, retain nutrients, and support groundwater recharge, leading to a healthier water cycle.
This reforestation project demonstrates how a single initiative can create a ripple effect, benefiting the environment in multiple ways while aligning with Globexs’ sustainability goals.
Desert Leaves Foundation was chosen as a partner due to its extensive experience in reforesting dryland areas and commitment to sustainable land management. With expertise in forestation and compliance with national carbon offset standards, Desert Leaves ensures that Globexs’ investment directly contributes to carbon sequestration and ecosystem health.
Desert Leaves manages the entire reforestation process, from acquiring permissions to planting and maintaining each tree. The foundation's expertise guarantees that the project will meet the highest standards of environmental stewardship, providing Globexs with a meaningful and measurable carbon offset.
The 2024 CSR policy is part of a larger sustainability strategy at Globexs. Beyond reforestation, Globexs is implementing eco-friendly practices across its operations, including:
Energy Efficiency: Reducing office electricity consumption by adopting energy-efficient practices.
Transportation Upgrades: Evaluating hybrid or electric vehicle options to reduce Scope 1 emissions.
Travel Optimization: Encouraging digital meetings to reduce travel-related emissions.
Globexs recognizes that environmental responsibility goes beyond a single project. The company is committed to integrating sustainable practices into all aspects of its operations, setting an example within the temporary housing industry.
Globexs views environmental sustainability as a shared mission. By openly sharing its carbon offset journey, Globexs aims to inspire clients and community members to consider their environmental impact and adopt sustainable practices.
Desert Leaves will provide Globexs with a carbon offset certificate, officially documenting its contribution to the project. This certification allows Globexs to share its environmental efforts with clients, demonstrating transparency and accountability in its commitment to carbon neutrality.
Globexs’ CSR policy for 2024 reflects its dedication to a sustainable future. Planting 115 trees is just one part of the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and fostering positive change. As the trees grow and capture CO₂ over the coming decades, they will serve as a lasting symbol of Globexs’ environmental responsibility and its vision for a healthier planet.
This initiative is only the beginning of Globexs’ journey toward sustainability. As the company continues to innovate in temporary housing, it remains committed to building a more eco-friendly future, one that benefits both clients and the planet.
